"The Married Life"

"The Married Life" was a movie that I had never heard of till this wknd. The cast consisted of Pierce Bronsan, Chris Cooper, and "Mean Girls" Rachel McAdams to name a few and it really answers the question...Can we be happy at the expense of someone you love? Regardless of it's a best friend, a husband, or a wife. It has crime, drama, and romance all rolled up into one.

The movie takes place in the 1940's when a cheating Harry (Chris Cooper) is head over heels with his mistress Kay (Rachel McAdams). As Harry ponders leaving his wife Pat (Patricia Clarkson),he figures poisoning her is his best bet. As he still has to play his role as the good husband, he asks his best friend Richard (Pierce Bronsan) the single hot looking playboy, who has already met Harry mistress Rachel, to spend time with her so she isn't alone. They spend time together alright. Richard finds himself falling in love with Kay at the expensive of Harry's feelings and friendship, however the feeling is mutual. As Kay searches for a way of ending her affair with Harry to be with Richard and not hurt his feelings at the same time, the betrayal of both Kay and Richard is portrayed. At that moment Harry realized just how much his wife meant to him. After sometime has gone by Harry learned to except what has happened to him and be happy and appreciative. Being happy for both Kay and Richard and appreciating his relationship with his wife.

This movie was one of those "who knew". I'm glad to got a chance to watch it. Although it was suggested my a married man, it's good movie regardless of your relationship status.
